Thinking about artificial intelligence and unmanned vehicle research progress

It shall be a goal of the Armed Forces to achieve the fielding of unmanned, remotely controlled technology such that... by 2015, one-third of the operational ground combat vehicles are unmanned, decided by US congress.
Navigation, Autonomy and Aerospace/Motorised vehicle industries are carrying out research to achieve this.
Watch Battlestar Galactica, Cylons have the intelligence that we engineers are trying to create, don't they?

Haven't all little girls heard and loved the story, played it with their friends, and somehow reflected it throughout their lives for thousands of years?
A prince, a great heroic figure proudly riding a thoroughbred stallion, would one day come and take them away. They would be to embrace their captor and live happily ever after, saved from the suffering of their youth.
How real is it?
In the times when such myths began being told to maidens all over, daily tribulations and harsh times were more often the routine of a people's household than anything else. As a result, what more could parents wish for their daughters than to have royalty enamoured with their child? La petite histoire de la prochaine panique de nos très chers ingénieurs, le bug de la date qui repasse à 0...

Je ne sais pas pour vous, mais j'ai prévu de vivre encore un bon moment pour ma part, et un évènement que personne n'a publiquement prévu est le prochain bug comme celui de l'an 2000:
Alors que, il y a une dizaine d'années, les ingénieurs de ce monde s'arrachaient les cheveux en constatant qu'ils n'avaient pas prévu que les années à 2 chiffres allaient revenir à 0 à la fin de 1999, et couraient dans tous les sens pour éviter des pannes bancaires, de sécurité, ou de transport, ceux du monde d'aujourd'hui se reposent tranquillement en écrivant des applications 32 bits (manipulant des chiffres occupant 4 octets de mémoire) qui ne tarderont pas à planter....
Ce qu'ils rangent dans ces 4 octets, et qui pose problème, c'est la date et l'heure. Un nombre est stocké ainsi pou...[fullstory]

Licenciement en avance...

Le 11 Juin 2008, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor trébuche sur une phrase en décrivant le président francais Nicolas Sarkozy "petit garcon excité".
Après des excuses vis a vis de ce commentaire qui était sensé être "un compliment", PPDA apprend par la presse qu'il est licencié de TF1 et ne présentera plus le 20 heures.
A sa place, Laurence Ferrari (de Canal+) est installée au journal et fera désormais bien attention a ne pas froisser l'orgueil de notre grand leader charismatique et politique.
A la liberté d'expression et la liberté de la presse, Dieu Bénisse la France.
